Baking has always been something that came naturally to me, something that was passed from grandmother to mother to daughter. Over
the years my kitchen has always been a meeting place where friends and
neighbours chatted over a cup of tea and some of my home baking. My
inherent passion for baking came from this tradition. So when we started
the business in 1994 it seemed like a natural progression of this tradition.
Encouraged by friends and neighbours to start the venture that was initially
a hobby has blossomed into a thriving business.
All the ingredients we use are natural and based on the recipes that were passed on from generation to generation. It is my core belief that this is what makes our products special. Unlike most contemporary bakeries mixes are not used in our products. I believe that doing so would take from the "authentic" taste of the traditional recipe.
"The proof of the pudding is in the eating"
so the old saying goes. From humble beginnings around the Athlone area our products can now be found within a 60 mile radius of Athlone. Such is the demand that expansion is inevitable. Regardless of expansion we will endeavour to retain the traditional methods and authentic taste that has proven so popular. If we did it any other way is just wouldn't be the same.
